Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has promised that his administration will encourage Heartland Football club of Owerri to become a world-class football club.
The governor made this promise while donating two brand new coaster buses to the supporters club of Heartland F.C at the Dan Anyiam International Stadium, Owerri.
“We started by renovating all sports infrastructure in the state; the stadia and other facilities that will make the work of sports men and women in the state easy.
“We now want to encourage the fan club to be very effective and efficient which will rub off on the performance of the players in the pitch and by so doing we will be in position to win almost all our matches
Uzodimma said it was the reason he donated the two brand new coaster buses. He advised them to use the buses judiciously and continue in their legendary support for the club.
Responding, chairman of the supporters club appreciated the governor for the kind gesture and made it clear that apart from the days when the club was known as Spartans, Uzodimma is the only governor that has came and remembered to donate vehicles to the supporters club.
