Former Napoli striker Andrea Carnevale says his club’s record signing Victor Osimhen must learn to be selfish towards his teammates for him to score more goals.
Osimhen joined the Blues from Lille for a record deal of €81m, which includes performance-related add-ons, but has struggled to hit the ground running and replicate the form which led to his signing from France.
The 21-year-old has made six appearances across all competitions, scored just a goal, and recorded another assist.
In an interview with Radio Cre, Carnevale said that Osimhen’s quality cannot be questioned but he surprisingly advises the Nigeria international to be less generous to his teammates.
“For me, the Napoli squad is very strong. Together with that of Inter it can challenge Juve.
“I know Osimhen. For me, he is very strong. I advised him to be less generous towards his teammates and to start dedicating himself to scoring, because he has many in his legs.”
