Nigeria’s head coach/technical adviser for the Super Eagles’ position is in a dilemma as hammer dangles on him. Reliable sources scooped that the Federal Government is favourable disposed to sacking the tactician following his team’s poor and abysmal performances this year. Super Eagles have never won any match since this year posting 0 win, 3 draws and 1 loss. This is a poor record for the Super Eagles since 1970.

It is painful that Nigerian government would have to cough out $1.2 million (N457.2million) before the services of the Franco/German tactician will be terminated if the terms of the two parties renewed contract is anything to go by.

Not bothered so much, about the huge sum to be paid to offload the Technical Adviser, stake holders and the Sports Ministry have contracted her Lawyers to critically review the contract if there are extant clauses in it to effect the dismissal of the coach without dispensing above colossal sum.

As the technical committee of NFF meets today Friday to look into the match report of the double header against the Lone Stars of Sierra Lone last Saturday at Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City and second leg decided at Siaka Steven Stadium in free town last Tuesday. Both show down ended in draws 4 – 4 and 0 – 0 goals outcome.

The Benin City encounter was dramatic as Super Eagles who led by 4 – 0 advantage displayed complacency culminating in mind boggling 4 – 4 draw from Sierra Leone’s Spartan Come-Back spirit. The second leg was equally drab as it also ended in a 0 – 0 draw despite the claims of fatigue, bad weather and poor pitch claimed as reason for the poor performance according to the coach.

The competence of the technical adviser calls for questioning according to stakeholders view and supported by the Sports Minister – Sunday Dare who apologized to Nigerians and called for the needful to be done.

It is obvious that the Super Eagles have outgrown the coaching competence ability and capacity of the coach. Despite the woeful Super Eagles showing the team still leads the groups L based on the results from other teams in their group.
