Ex-Nigerian boxers have raised the sum of N.3m for ailing former African Games bronze medallist, Friday Felix.
Felix, who won bronze at the 1995 African Games in Harare, Zimbabwe, has been down with stroke for a year and is currently unable to pay for his medical expenses, and was last treated for seven months ago

.
The ex-pugilists called on the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as the Nigeria Boxing Federation to assist Felix.
The money will be presented to the former ABU champion on Friday at his home in the Makoko area of Lagos.

In a chat with newsmen, Felix, who represented Nigeria and Lagos State at the amateur level from 1988 to 1997, said he had been unable to continue his medication due to lack of finance.

“Any money I get now is to feed myself and my family. I stopped treatment before the COVID-19 lockdown because I didn’t have the money to continue,” Felix lamented.
“I have not been able to pay my rent in over a year as well because of my condition.”
