As clubs warm up for the resumption of action in the NPFL, veteran journalist, Fan Ndubuoke has charged the league organizers, LMC to wake up and enforce her rules in the area of club management.

Ndubuoke who spoke exclusively to newstap.com.ng noted that the LMC has sometimes looked the other way when some clubs breach the rules in their management structure.

The former NFF board member under whose tenure as chairman had the best of performance winning the FA Cup back to back said the LMC should not just be bothered by Club licensing rules only ahead of the new season.

“Everybody has been talking about Club licensing ahead of the new season and nobody is talking about the way the club’s are being run. Some clubs breach the LMC rules in the area of management structure. The LMC would act in some cases and look the other way in some other cases. This is not proper. The LMC should enforce their own rules and guidelines. They spelt out structures on how a club should be run and there are rules that say certain persons (politically exposed individuals) should not be involved the running of clubs. It would be in the interest of our league if these rules are properly enforced,” Ndubuoke said.

Ndubuoke who refused to be dragged into the crisis rocking Heartland, insisting that he would not want his comments to be misconstrued pointed out that the Imo state government, owners of the club, know what to do to get the club back on track.

He was however quick in stating…”The government should look at the set up in the three premier league clubs in the South East…Enyimba, Abia Warriors and Rangers. In Enyimba, Felix Anyansi Agwu is the Executive Chairman of the club and he calls the shots ( the club has no General Manager). In Abia Warriors, Emeka Inyama is also the Executive Chairman and he is in charge. In Rangers, there is a board, but the club has a General Manager in Davidson Owumi who runs the show and from time to time brief the board when the need arises. The Rangers board don’t run the club. I have not seen an enterprise that is run by a board on a day to day basis…let me leave it at that.”
