Students and pupils of Saint Lucy’s Catholic School Obitti, Ohaji, have been charged to take their academics seriously in order to graduate excellently and become useful to themselves, families, communities and the church.

This charge for serious academic studies was given by the Parish Priest of Saint Lucy’s Catholic Church Obitti Ohaji and the School Administrator, Rev. Fr Patrick Izuchukwu Onyeka, during a church service heralding the school’s 8th graduation ceremony, held at the school compound, last Sunday.

Onyeka stressed that material things if given priority attention could affect the students and pupils negatively in life, as he urged them to imbibe hardwork, pragmatism and godliness to succeed.

“Take your studies seriously and forget about beautifying your bodies now. Always follow the ways of God to be fruitful and successful”.

The Dean of the school, Mazi Amadi Ifeanyi Festus, disclosed that the school was rated high in terms of academic excellence within Ohaji, as he commended the sterling effort of the school Administrator, Rev Fr. Patrick Izuchukwu Onyeka.

He hinted that Pillar of Education Award were bestowed on individuals who contributed to the establishment and growth of the school to appreciate them, as well as encourage others to invest in the school to sustain it.

Responding, one of the awardees, Rev. Fr. Felix Okere, who started the school, was happy as he thanked the school for the recognition, expressing satisfaction of the growth of the school. He encouraged the pupils and the students to continue to grow in character and learning to achieve greater result in future.
