The Kings International Theological Seminary (KITS) has charged the matriculating and graduating students to imbibe divine knowledge.
Speaking during the 13th matriculation and 12th convocation ceremony of the seminary held on Saturday at NUJ Press center, Owerri, Imo State, the Rector of KITS, main campus Owerri, Bishop Prof. Okechukwu Godson noted that the theological seminary campuses in Nigeria are centres for impartation of divine knowledge, adding that the institution is a world class seminary that trains and equips men and women called into the ministry as commanded by Christ (Mathew 16:15, Ephesians 4:7-16), offer well balanced curriculum which blends theology, character charismatic teaching for an effective and enduring Ministry.
He posited that the institution is known for holiness and righteousness as Jesus Christ demands of all disciples and believers without which no man can see God, especially promoting and respecting the universal body of Christ through ministerial ethics.
The Rector hinted that KITS prepares students in the following areas of studies: International School of Missions and Ministry, Certificate in Theology, Diploma in Biblical Studies, Associate in Biblical Studies, Bachelor in Theology, Bachelor in Christian Religious Education and Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He urged intending theological students to also register for their advanced graduate school to include, Master of Arts in Biblical Studies, Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Theology and Masters Degree in Christian Religious Education with terminal degrees of Doctor of Ministry, Ph. D in Theology, Ph. D in Christian Religious Education and Doctor of Divine (DD) with lecturers of intimidating personality profiles to impart knowledge.
Bishop Prof. Okechukwu Godson called on the matriculating students to shun spirit of levity, moral laxity, urging them to take their studies seriously. He advised the graduating students to press forward into the future with brevity and courage, adding, “do not allow the divine light in your lands to be quenched by the forces of darkness”, calling on those who received awards to always remember to extend hands of assistance to the institution as they are led.
He lauded the virtues of the President of KITS, Arch-Bishop Prof. P. C Chukwumah, describing him as a champion of human development, mentor of mentors and charismatic leader. “A servant of of God does not die rather, he transforms from physical live to eternal live”, he submitted. He urged all and sundry to identify with the institution as they think of picking a study in theology.
