Christians have been enjoined on true repentance while abhorring evil practice in order to live a fulfilled life, as well as enjoy in heaven with God, His angels and saints.

The call for Christ followers to live righteously at all times to merit divine blessings, was made by Rev. Fr. Bede Nwalozie Chiazo, during a Eucharistic celebration at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, Umudibia Nekede, Owerri West local government area, Imo State, on Sunday.

He stressed that true repentance rooted deeply in godliness is priceless, as God cherishes and blesses those who are contrite in heart, behavior and action.

According to Nwalozie, “true repentance brings divine blessing and peace. The kind of repentance demonstrated by David, Peter and the prodigal son. “The repentance from the bottom of our hearts is most cherished by God who loves good deeds and godliness”.

“Indeed, the repentance John the Baptist, the son of Zachariah, preached was true repentance. He prophesied the coming of Christ and urged the people of Israel to keep themselves holy while preparing and waiting for the coming of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind”.

Nwalozie thus reminded the Christian faithful that “Christ is coming again. So, prepare well to receive Him, even as we shun fake repentance, hatred and undue crave for material things which are ungodly. It is bad that some persons go back to sin they initially forbode”, charging them to forgive one another with tolerance and sincerity of heart and action.
