Worshippers at Assemblies of God Church, Amakohia, Owerri North, Imo State, were filled with enormous joy as they dedicated an ultra modern edifice esthetically built for the worship of God. The church members sang and danced in praise to God for His goodness, growth of the church, the advancement of righteousness and true Christianity.
The building dedication which took place on Sunday at Number 6 Frederick Ekwema Street, Amakohia Uratta, saw Assemblies of God Church members, clergy and quests across the world gracing it. The ceremony was glamorously entertaining.
Cutting the ribbon of the edifice, the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Pastor Ejikeme Ejim, said the worshippers made sterling efforts to single- handedly build the church to encourage the worship of God, as well as convert souls, praying for more divine strength on leaders of the church and their members, expressing gratitude to God for the gift of life, the timely and safe realization of the adorning project.
Presenting an address, the Church Secretary, Sunday .E. Obi, noted that “the year 2022 stands out as a serious landmark in the history of Assemblies of God Church Amakohia Uratta and by extension the entire body of worshippers. This is because it marked the dedication of our ultra modern church building, officially marking a paradigm shift from the present children department hall which served as main church building for a long time…the church building was solely funded by members of this church without external assistance”.
Praising God for availing them the opportunity, strength and financial resources to have initiated, started and completed the church building, the District Superintendent Owerri East, Rev. A.U. Amadi PhD, the Senior Pastor/Assistant District Superintendent, Owerri East District, Rev. Dr. Okechukwu Esom, Evangelist Amb. George Ajaelu and Dr. Basil Chinecherem Oguguo, Chairman, Planning Committee of the ceremony, said the church dedication was to the glory of God whose love, grace, peace, security and economic prosperity bestowed upon the church hence their exploits.
