PDP Gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming election in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy), has vowed to eliminate hunger and insecurity in Imo State.

He berated APC led government for creating and heightening poverty, hunger, hardship, suffering, agony, crime, violence and insecurity in the state through what he termed as bad governance, harsh economic policies and lack of vision.

He was bitter that the 3R led administration championed by Governor Hope Uzodimma has reduced the state to banana republic with no institution or parastatal working effectively given to its alleged desperation for continuity in power, greed, corruption, incompetence and uncharitable disposition.

Speaking at his residence in Owerri, Saturday, Samdaddy said “the people are living in misery, extreme poverty and pain with underdevelopment: lack of infrastructure such as poor healthcare, poor electricity and water supply, bad road, unemployment, irregular payment of workers meager salaries and wages, none payment of pensions to retirees, inflation, poor education, high tuition fees, unhygienic environment, over taxation, touting, highhandedness, intimidation and bullying of opposition members, ruination of local government system, syphoning of ISOPADEC 13% Oil Derivation Funds and LGA allocations, reckless spending, waste of state finance on frivolities being the hallmarks of the 3R led administration in Imo State”.

Anyanwu vowed that he will restore Imo State through what he called “good governance, good and people oriented policies and programs if given the chance by Imo people to be their governor”.

Hence, he appealed to the people to get ready as to give him their deserved mandate in the November 11 2023 governorship election to enable him and the PDP serve them creditably and humanely, adding that he and his running mate, Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, are 100% qualified to govern Imo State and put smile on gloomy faces.

“We are very accessible. We can make Imo safe again because we have the interest and needs of the people at our innermost hearts. PDP is fully coming back to make Imo State safe so that our brothers and sisters can have confidence to come back, live comfortably and peacefully, invest and do genuine businesses in Imo State.

We will bring our ideas together to solve insecurity, reduce crime, poverty and vulnerability. We are indeed prepared to govern Imo State to restore the lost dignity of citizens”, Anyanwu stressed.
