Governor Babagana Zulum on Sunday led relatives and residents to bury 43 farmers murdered by Boko Haram fighters.
A statement from the government said the funeral held at Zabarmari area of Borno.
No fewer than 43 farm workers were killed and six others said to have been wounded by Boko Haram in the village of Koshobe near the north eastern city of Maiduguri on Saturday.

It was gathered that the victims were working in a rice field before the attack.
According to the militia sources, the assailants tied up the agricultural workers and then slit their throats at Koshobe.
Speaking at the event, Zulum condemned the killing and appealed to the federal government to recruit more persons into the civilian joint task force.

The governor expressed sympathy with the family of the deceased.
United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, has condemned the attack.

In a statement on Sunday, Kallon, who is also the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Nigeria, said he’s outraged and horrified by the gruesome attack against civilians.
“The entire UN system and the humanitarian community working to provide life-saving and development assistance to the most vulnerable in Borno State is outraged by the incident,” he said.
