Young Progressive Party, YPP, Imo State, has visited a veteran journalist, Mr Ogechi Iwu, who was amputated on his right leg, at his, Umuahia Street, Aladimma residence, Owerri, on Tuesday.

Ogechi Iwu was recently discharged from the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri. He is battling with a chronic disease which resulted in cutting his right leg with a severely bandaged injury on his left leg.

YPP, through its State Woman Leader, Hon Amb Chika Uju, in the visit, told the veteran broadcaster to persevere and keep faith in God, as he thanked God for saving his life. She remarked that Ogechi Iwu is a dear friend to YPP, who is always lively each time he visited the party office in Owerri.

Uju, who was accompanied to the visit by Mrs Jen Nwoko, Okigwe Zonal Woman Leader and Mrs Felicia Ibe, Orlu Zonal Woman Leader, described Ogechi Iwu as a veteran journalist, a man of honour, with vision for society’s good.

In her words, the woman leader stated that “when YPP heard of Ogechi Iwu’s predicament, we were touched, hence we came to see him, to identify with him and thank God for saving him. Because it was not every human being who went into such operation survived. God made it possible for Ogechi Iwu to have a fresh birth. May God’s Name be glorified”.

The party, who used Ogechi Iwu, as a point of contact to reach the sick and vulnerable, encouraged the sick to always keep faith in God for their healing and strength.

Responding, Ogechi Iwu, who appreciated Young Progressives Party for coming to visit him at his home, assured them that he will always be grateful to God and YPP, urging the party to keep on doing well to people, especially those in dire need of assistance.

He wished YPP well, as he invoked God to reward them plentifully for identifying with him.
