People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Southeast zone has called on the Anambra State executives to work assiduously to ensure that the party reclaims its mandate by unseating the current governor, Professor Charles Soludo come next election.
Media Director, Southeast People’s Democratic Party, Hon. Nwafor Richard Nwali (Marvelous) disclosed this in a press statement made available to newsmen on 7th, June, 2025.
According to Hon Nwafor, “The leadership ingenuity of Engr. Chigozie Igwe, Caretaker Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Anambra State, has proven beyond all reasonable doubt. Party activities have continued to soar higher, with visits to critical stakeholders within and outside the state reinvigorated since his assumption of office. We are optimistic that the state leadership prowess is back on track after the 2023 general election”.
“Similarly, we have observed that some members of our great party who left due to one reason or another have since reunited with our party at the grassroots (Anambra is fully PDP). As the major opposition party in Nigeria and the southeast, we want to warmly appeal to all state working committee members of our great party to close ranks and work tirelessly to entrench a prosperous Anambra of our dreams through the biggest umbrella (PDP)”.
“We encourage you to use all legal means within the ambit of the law to reclaim our mandate in 2025. We will not continue to recycle the same political party (APGA) and expect different outcomes. The governor has failed to conduct local government elections since he took over from His Excellency Willie Obiano (Akpokuo Dike)”.
“It may interest you to know that Chukwuma Soludo has not fulfilled even a single promise he made to Ndi Anambra during his electioneering campaign in 2021. The greatness, fortunes, and future of Ndi Anambra will not be traded on professorship, which has not yielded any positive impact on the lives of our people (Ndi Igbo)”.
“No doubt, Anambra State under His Excellency (Chukwuma) has experienced distorted growth at all levels in the last two years of his administration; hence the need to explore all avenues to reclaim our stolen mandate in 2021. We came second in the election that was marred with irregularities (snatching of ballot boxes, intimidation of voters, and harassment of INEC officials by APGA agents in all polling units)”.
“Ndi Anambra have suffered enough in the hands of the All Progressive’s Grand Alliance (APGA). Hostilities in all sectors, especially security of lives and properties, poor remuneration of our workforce, have continued unabated, with bastardized local government administration becoming incapacitated”.
“The People’s Democratic Party, Anambra State, must be united and more concerned about victory than the obstacles that lie ahead of us (we will surmount them headlong). No man is an island; all critical stakeholders should work closely to achieve the desired result in the forthcoming gubernatorial election coming up in 2025”.
“Finally, we assure Ndi Anambra of a purposeful administration if voted into power in 2025. The mini-rally in our party secretariat in Awka (state capital) slated to hold tomorrow (8th June 2024) will experience a massive, mammoth crowd from all walks of life. It will also be a wake-up call on the APGA-led state government that has failed woefully to harness the natural endowment of the state to better the lots of the people”.
