Tragedy struck late thursday evening as an unidentified woman was crushed to death while crossing the road at Ihiala, Anambra State.
Public Education Officer of Anambra State Sector of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Florence Edor, who disclosed this in a statement made available to our correspondent on Sunday, said that an unidentified driver of a Toyota venza jeep with registration number KJA 862 ES knocked down the woman opposite Abbot Secondary School Ihiala at about 6.00 pm on Thursday.

Three persons were said to be involved in the crash comprisses of two male adults and one female adult.
“The female adult was rushed to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital by Frsc rescue team from Ihiala Command and was later confirmed dead by the Doctor on duty,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Commander of FRSC, Andrew A Kumapayi, has sent his condolences to the deceased family.
He warnex motorists to avoid speeding especially in built up areas, they should abide by the recommended speed limit of 50km per hour
He also warned pedestrian to be watchful while crossing the road to avoid been knocked down by on-coming vehicle.
