Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has said that the flag-off of Imo rural roads rehabilitation was informed by the promise his government made to Imolites to rehabilitate, reconstruct and recover all broken down infrastructures in the state.
Uzodimma made the assertion while flagging off the rural roads rehabilitation project at the Heroes’ Square, recently.
He stated that the equipment being commissioned and deployed for the project were the ones stolen but recovered from past government officials, while others were newly purchased by his government to actualize the rural roads rehabilitation revolution.
He promised that his administration will continue to recover stolen government property and equipment and deploy them to critical sectors in the state where their services are needed.
He made it clear that the equipment were not enough to go round the 27 LGAs of the state, reason the government decided to adopt the use of the 10 federal constituencies, through which the equipment will work on the rural roads in the 27 LGAs, under a well structured timetable, with the supervision of chairmen and members of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the LGAs.
