The leadership of the National Union of Rivers State Students has dismissed reports about an alleged planned to hand over power to a caretaker committee instead of electing new executive of the union.
A document purported to have been signed by the Union Senate President, LENEBARI MIRACLE and his Clerk, VICTOR CALEB had emerged, indicating plans to hand over power to a caretaker committee.
But MIRACLE and CALEB in an interview with journalists after a joint peace and resolution meeting in Port Harcourt disowned the document, saying that they did not give consent to such document.
The NURSS Senate President and Clerk insisted that the union is one united body under the leadership of LEVI ZECHARIAH-GEORGE just as they urged members of the public to disregard such rumors.
Earlier, the National President of NURSS, LEVI ZECHARIAH-GEORGE said they are ready to conduct free, fair and credible election and transit power peacefully for the interest of the Rivers students.
He also dismissed report of any rift in the union.
