Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu has reassured Imo people of the state government’s readiness and commitment to fix Imo roads so as to meet their yearnings.

The Commissioner made this known while interacting with some journalists in his office at the state secretariat.
He noted that the present administration was quite sensitive to what Imo residents are going through, as he placed good road infrastructure as central and key in every developmental stride, reiterating that both health sector, education sector, economic/commercial activities, among others, leverage on good road network to strive, pointing out that good road construction is pertaining to life and so, if it is good, bad or worse, it affects everybody in that environment without disparity.

He observed that the road construction by the present administration, suffered some hiccups, especially from the rains as he revealed, “Roads are not constructed under the rains. You do not compromise in road construction, once the stone base is compromised, asphalt overlay which is just paint will definitely affect the quality”.

He pointed out that some roads under construction in the state, currently were embarked on to grant people access, considering their horrible state before construction commenced, which would have been totally impasaible if not for the intervention of the State government.

Nwosu mentioned Assumpta Port-Harcourt Road as among the roads that got attention, whereas cement technology was adopted to bring stability, pointing out that final work has have been done on some of the roads.
