Former governor of Imo State and Senator representing Orlu Zone in the Senate, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has described Governor Hope Uzodimma as a monumental failure.
Okorocha said the governor has nothing to offer to Imo people hence his poor performance within one year he has ruled the state.
Okorocha, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, added that Uzodimma only achieved demolishing of Somto Hospital at Ekeukwu Owerri Market, destruction of six monumental roundabouts, destruction of Kanu Akanu Ibiam tunnel at Port Harcourt Road and the removal of superior street lights within Owerri urban.
Okorocha, who got angry that the governor’s media handlers had accused him of messing up the state for eight years, which Uzodimma is trying to clean, accused the governor of owing workers and pensioners who are hungry and traumatized
Parts of the release read, “The governor’s Media Assistant confirmed that Uzodinma had failed in his first one year and also accepted the poor performance verdict passed on the administration by Imo people. And the only excuse he could give in the circumstance was the imaginary anomalies meted out to the state by Okorocha which he could not also explain or mention to justify that callous and unintelligent defence.
“The truth is that, if after one year, the governor’s media handlers still brandish Okorocha’s name as their only defence for the government’s failure or ineptitude, then something fundamental is obviously wrong with the Shared Prosperity led administration”.
The senator advised the government to face governance and stop casting aspersions at his opponents to reduce insecurity and massive suffering of Imo people.
“The blame game should have been over after the celebration of his one hundred days in office. But it has continued even after one year indicating that there is no light at the end of the tunnel”.
Okorocha said he was not surprised that critical stakeholders including the people have jettisoned Uzodimma giving to his ineptitude and low capacity for good leadership.
“For now, the governor has lost the state. He has lost Imo people. He has lost APC members in the State, at all levels. He has lost all categories of people in the State. He should reinvent and reinvigorate his government for the flight to take off”, Okorocha stated.
