…says he has not abandoned APGA
Jubilation during the weekend took over the whole Umuawulu Communty in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra state as one of their illustrious sons, High Chief Dr Azubuike Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu Nwanayoeze) donated three shuttle buses, one truck, and one Toyota Corolla to lucky indigenes, even as Fifty women were empowered with Twenty thousand naira each totalling One Million Naira to start up a business at the community’s market.
Dr Ekweozor, who is the founder Ide Global movement and former APGA Aspirant for Awka North and South Federal Constituency thanked God for his immense gratitude and blessings upon his life.
He revealed that the essence of Ide Global Movement is to cushion the sufferings of the needy in the society while noting that his benevolence was beyond his political aspirations.
“As a matter of fact politics is a seasonal thing and it comes and go. Like what I told my people during my consultations that I am a messenger of God and have come to change the narratives but people misunderstood me and after the primaries I couldnt make it but I had to go back to buisness move on with life”
“People think I would abandoned my party, I said it’s no that it is not a matter of politics but changing lives and putting smiles on faces.
I have impacted enough in APGA, I am a major financier and stakeholder, so I Cannot go to any other party. I have a covenant with God to remain in APGA. I made a promise to some ward members to provide shuttles and today it came to pass”, he added.
The Parish Priest of St Joseph’s Catholic church Umuawulu, Rev Fr Benjamin Odika prayed to God to continue blessing the donor, Ide Umuawulu Nwanayoeze and also that the beneficiaries to make proper use of the gifts to alleviate their sufferings.
In his remark, His royal Majesty, Igwe Joel Egwuonwu, Ezeudo 11 in Umuawulu, thanked God for Using Ide Umuawulu to support the downtrodden. He described Dr Ekweozor’s as a tool God has placed in the community to improve life in ways of scholarship, empowerment, built homes for widows, as well as providing basic amenities of lives.
While asking God to provide ten more people who could be like him to make Umuawulu the best among all, advised other well to do personalities in the society to borrow a leave from the benefactors Philanthropist lifestyle
Beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent, were, Oluchukwu Nwankwo, Obike Ikechukwu, Chijioke Cosmas Afunanya, and Mrs Chinyere Okpara. They however, appreciated God for having the luck to be chosen and promised to judiciously utilise them in improving their livelihood.
Among those present were Dr Odogwu Emeka Emeka, Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Anambra State council, Hon Leo Nwuba, former Awka South Local Government Transition Chairman:Hon Chikodili Nnonyelu, Awka South APGA Chairman: Prince Chinedu Okafor, Past Secretary Awka South Local Government Area and Director General Ide Campaign Team, among others.
