United Isu Progressive Union (UIPU) in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State, has dedicated a multi-purpose hall to boost development at the area.
The edifice was officially opened by the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, weekend, amidst fanfare.
Uzodimma, who thanked UIPU for building and dedicating the edifice which he described as a great achievement for the community, expressed satisfaction with the development mindedness of the people of Isu and Nwangele as a whole.
Uzodimma noted that the feat will go a long way to complementing his economic development drive, adding that more jobs will be created with Adapalm being improved upon on productivity.
The Governor of UIPU, Mr. Celestine Opurum, said that the union’s annual day celebration and dedication of the hall was worthwhile, imploring sons and daughters of Isu clan to continue to strive to add to the progress and development of the community.
He hailed the patrons of the union and urged them not to relent in adding impetus to the development of the society.
Earlier in his remarks, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Hon. Chinedu Ukadike, noted that the edifice will boost the economy of the community as youths will be employed and empowered.
The state governor was honoured with chieftaincy title over his ‘gallantry in politics and governance’.
