Two innocent civilians have been reportedly killed at Naze roundabout (Airforce Base), Owerri, on Monday, as the military engaged unknown gunmen in a serious gun duel.
Reports have it that the unknown gunmen, who engaged the Airforce men in a gun battle which left two innocent persons dead, wore black clothes and rode in a vehicle which was said to have been obstructed by the military en route Aba Road.
According to the reports, “during the shootout, a bullet hit one of the victims on the neck, whereas another victim was said to have been shot directly. The victims died instantly at the scene of the gun battle.”
One of the dead victims was said to be a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede.
