The Special Marshals of Federal Road Safety Corps, RS 9.4, Imo State Sector Command, Owerri, has lauded the Commissioner of Mines and Solid Minerals, Dr. Elias Martins Emedom, for performing exceptionally.
The encomium was poured on the Commissioner when the group paid him a courtesy visit last at his office in Owerri
The State Coordinator, Special Marshals, Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Command, RS 9.4, Owerri, Dr. Mrs. Happiness Ikechukwu Osuigwe, who led the delegation, noted that they came to felicitate with the Commissioner, Dr. Elias Martins Emedom, who is also a Special Marshal on his appointment and sterling performance so far.
She added that they were encouraged to visit him as a mark of appreciation and recognition for his service to FRSC when he served in different capacities as a Special Marshal of FRSC.
Osuigwe explained that the Special Marshals group of FRSC are a volunteer arm of the FRSC men of proven integrity with visible means of livelihood who served their fatherland without being paid, pointing out that they serve to complement the efforts of the Regular Marshals who are the regular arm bearer and in the payroll of FRSC.
Osuigwe assured the Commissioner of the support of officers of FRSC in whatever capacity to assist him succeed in his duty as a Commissioner.
She recalled the outstanding service of the Commissioner while serving in various capacities as a Special Marshal in the Sector and Zonal Commands, encouraging him to bring the good work to bear in his current position as a Commissioner of Mines and Solid Minerals, even as she commended the Sector Commander, who facilitated their visit as the father of the Command.
Responding, the Commissioner, Dr. Elias Martins Emedom, thanked the delegates for the visit and highlighted the functions of the ministry, soliciting the support of the officers and men of FRSC, mentioning that they are members of Imo communities who are severally on the roads for patrol, traffic control and surveillance.
The Commissioner reminded them to be vigilant in their environment: on the activities of formal and informal dredgers, whose activities could be hazardous to the environment and may cause problems of gory erosion and possibly landslides.
Emedom urged them to support the ministry by bringing to the knowledge of the ministry any environmental degradation activities, saying they are in good position to identify areas of location of Solid Minerals in the state which are yet to be identified and explored.
He described the synergy between them as necessary, stating that the cooperation will definitely benefit the state in increasing IGR, creating job opportunities for citizens especially youths even as he urged the delegation to continue to be good ambassadors of FRSC.
