Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, alarmed by the current increase in the number of COVID 19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic, has directed all civil servants on salary scale 01-13 except those on essential duty to stay away from duty from 20th of January, 2020.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt by the Rivers State Head of Service, Rufus Godwin said that the Governor has directed officers from Grade levels 14 and above to be on duty and assume full responsibilities for their offices till further notice.
The statement added that all Permanent Secretaries and Heads of extra ministerial departments should ensure compliance with the new directive and observe strictly all COVID19 protocols.
