The All Progressive Congress (APC), has faulted the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for calling on Governor Hope Uzodimma to resign from office over what it termed as worsening insecurity in Imo State.

The party leadership said it is solidly behind the governor to continue to render good governance to the state for even development and security of lives of citizens and their properties.

During media conference held at its state secretariat, Owerri, last week, APC State Chairman, Prince Marcillinus Nlemigbo (Esq), stated that the shared prosperity administration championed by Uzodimma, has done well within its short stay in office, nothing that the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery agenda of the present government is yielding good results and should be supported by all citizens of good conscience.

According to Nlemigbo, “the call for Governor Hope Uzodimma to resign by PDP is not only childish, frivolous, laughable and delusional, but a further demonstration of acute desperation to sneak back to Douglas House through the backdoor even at the detriment of lives and properties of Imo citizens.

One had expected that the PDP as the main opposition party in the state come up with possible alternative solution to the situation, but that will be seeking for a virgin in a brothel”, warning those he described as political desperadoes who detract the attention of government by allegedly sponsoring insecurity in the state to stop as no amount of destruction could dissuade the government from performing creditably in order to meet needs of the people who own the government.

Nlemigbo, who asked imolites to always ignore the antics or falsehood which PDP peddles against APC led government in Imo State.

Contributing, the APC Chairman of Mbaitoli local government area, Hon. Emma Opara, on behalf of APC LGA Chairmen in Imo State, warned the PDP to stop maligning APC, leave Governor Hope Uzodimma alone to continue his good work, but mind its business, as it waits for 2023 election, affirming the party’s support for Uzodimma, as he called for peace and tranquillity.
