Police in Delta State on Sunday morning rescued a 33-year-old woman, Mrs. Akpezi Okpidi from her abductors.
Two suspected kidnappers were also arrested in connection with the abduction of the mother of two, according to reports.
It was learnt that a member of the kidnap gang ran away and abandoned the victim when he sensed danger from policemen in Burutu Local Government Area.
The woman who is also a trader was eventually rescued at the kidnappers’ hideout without payment of any ransom.
It would be recalled that Mrs Okpidi was abducted from Noble Street, off Stadium road in Ughelli community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the report in a text message she sent to our correspondent in Warri.
