The Nigerian Police has commenced the enrollment of retired officers into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Imo State.

The disclosure was made through a press release made on behalf of Imo State Commissioner of Police, (CP) Isaac Akinmoyede by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Ikeokwu.

The Press release stated that the CP flagged off the enrollment exercise at the state Police Area Command Headquarters and conveyed the Inspector General of Police (IGP’s) felicitations to them.

According to the release on the 21st of September 2020, the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Isaac Akinmoyede psc, fdc, MNIM, flagged off the enrolment of the retired police officers into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

The CP welcomed the retirees to the Area Command Headquarters and conveyed the IGP’s felicitation to them. He further told them that the Inspector-General of Police and the Federal Government of Nigeria are very much interested in their welfare, that it was based on that, that this programme was approved.

According to the CP, the programme was designed in a way that the retirees will enjoy very good healthcare for free or at an affordable and stress free payment.

He then urged them to have faith in the federal government, as there are more incentives being put in place for their upkeep.
