PDP ready to hand over power to youths – Secondus

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said it is ready to hand over power to the youths.

National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, stated this, weekend, during the South East PDP Youth Summit held in Awka, Anambra State

Secondus, who declared the event open, said the summit was part of the moves by the party to hand over its structure to Nigerian youths to provide effective leadership for the country.

He said it has been proven that Nigerian youths are capable of leading the country.

Secondus listed some youths in Nigeria and overseas who have succeeded in leadership positions and also used their creative minds to develop mind-blowing inventions.

He advised the participants not to allowed leaders who have no progressive agenda to woo them to their fold.

South East Zonal Chairman of the party, Ali Odefa, on his part, said it has been confirmed that PDP youths were among the most refined youths in Nigeria, adding that the party remains the most youth-friendly in the country, which has given many youths its platform to attain leadership positions.

He urged the youths to remain focused and never be discouraged.

A governorship aspirant on the party’s platform, Dr. Godwin Maduka, while addressing journalists shortly after the occasion, urged the youths not to leave the party, saying PDP remains the only hope of Nigeria.

He promised the youths of Anambra a better deal if elected.

Other party leaders who were also present at event are the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jibril; Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; former vice presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi; Senate minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, among others.
