The ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC) swelled up again on Wednesday at Camp Neya, the home of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Chief Silvanus Nwaji dumped his party to join the APC.
Nwaji while defecting, said he belonged to a family built by Kalu which informed his decision to return to the family.
He expressed hope that APC will deliver good governance to Abia which PDP according to him couldn’t deliver.
Nwaji who is a two-time Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government, expressed the confidence that APC would not only win the 2023 governorship in the state, but would also go ahead to reposition Abia.
He thanked Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the APC caretaker committee for receiving him, promising to use his grassroots popularity to sweep victory for the broom party.
Receiving Nwaji, Kalu welcomed the former PDP chieftain to APC, rejoicing that the APC had gained more pillars.
The Senate Chief Whip added that many Abians were beginning to realise the reason he (Kalu) left PDP few years ago.
He later presented a broom to Nwaji, on behalf of APC Caretaker Committee of Abia.
