Ahead of the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, a frontline Peoples Democratic party (PDP), governorship aspirant, Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo, last Sunday, donated eight vehicles to some key party officials in the state.
News Echo learnt that the donation which took place at the party’s Secretariat, Awka, had in attendance, all the 21 local government Chairmen of the party.
Addressing the beneficiaries and other participants, Mr. Ozigbo, assured the party leadership in the state of victory in the 2021 election if he wins the party’s gubernatorial ticket of the PDP.
He expressed confidence that with the likes of Mr. Peter Obi, Senator Ben Ndi Obi, Senator Joy Emordi, Iyom Joesphine Anenih, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Chief Chris Uba, Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu, he will emerge the consensus candidate that would take over from Governor Willie Obiano, come March, 2022.
“We have to sacrifice our resources and time to ensure PDP wins. I donated these vehicles as part of the love I personally have for PDP and to make the party more popular in the midst of other contesting political parties in the state”. He urged other party supporters who have benefited in one way or another to emulate his gesture to keep the party moving.
The former Transcorp boss, appealed to the beneficiaries to make use of the vehicles for the purposes in which they were bought.
Appreciating Mr. Ozigbo, the State Chairman of the Party, Chief Ndubisi Nwobu, said the gesture was a demonstration of love for the party. He said the party needed a strong candidate like Mr. Valentine Chineto Ozigbo to win the election.
