A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has warned against an imminent collapse of the country over insecurity if nothing was done urgently to avert the danger.
Senator Anyanwu charged the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal Government to change style of governance, saying that the party’s old method of administration has become moribund.
According to him, “nothing in Nigeria is working again, not even human lives and properties are spared. It is annoying that a country that is blessed with many natural resources is increasing pump price of petroleum at will. Nothing is stable; price of goods rises up and never comes down in Nigeria.”
“Another menace is the spate of insecurity across the six geopolitical zones in the country. No one sleeps with his or her two eyes closed. The society is tensed and charged over possible uprising anytime, and any day. Civil servants, pensioners and the masses are crying. Not only that civil servants and pensioners are yet to be paid, hunger and starvation have risen to high proportion”
Anyanwu reminded the APC and President Buhari of their campaign promises to rescue Nigerians, adding that their conducts had shown that they were not prepared before grabbing power.
“APC and President Buhari had assured Nigerians of their commitment to raise the standard of living, construct good road network, offer quality education and improve on agriculture. Today, all their promises have become mere deceit to hijack power. Nigerians have been raped, shattered, dehumanized and abandoned.” He said.
