From Ovat Mike,

The Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Basil Ejidike, said the party may not continue with the ongoing membership registration/revalidation exercise over shortage of funds.
He said that, if urgent step is not taking, it might prevent many old and new members to either join the party or revalidate their membership of the party.
Ejidike, who disclosed this on Saturday in Awka, during a stakeholders meeting organized by the state executive of the party, to strategize on how to raise more funds for the continuation of the project, said that despite the N40 million the party got from governors David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma and the National Working Committee (NWC), of the party to commence the exercise, the state chapter still need more funds to effectively conclude the process schedule to end second week of March, 2021.

“Out of the N40 millions, we have distributed the fund to wards, units and committee level for the registration.
“What we did, we distributed N50, 000 to each of the 326 wards and N100,000 to each of the 21 local government of the state and the purchase of five vehicles for monitoring and supervising.

“So, for the party to have a successful and seamless registration and revalidation exercise in Anambra state, the party still need more money from our stakeholders to meet our target of mobilising more people for registration,” Ejidike explained.
He said that the registration and revalidation is critical to the state, especially now that the electorates in the forthcoming November 6, governorship election has been convince to vote for APC, as a result of the ongoing Construction of Second Niger Bridge, the ongoing Construction and Rehabilitation of Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the President Mohammadu Buhari,’s promised to hand over power to the South East zone, noting that they shall leave nothing to chance in the state of the opportunity.

Ejidike said that the Anambra state APC is seriously working towards free and transparent registration so that at the end the people would have opportunity to belong to the national party.
Ejidike call on Anambra people to register with APC in order to attract more Federal presence to the State.
News Echo gathered that Stakeholders who also speak on the same page, include; the Minister for Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, Senator Andy Uba, Engr. Johnbosco Onoukwo, Dr. Amobi Nwokafor, Anambra State Committee Chairman for the Registration and Revalidation exercise, Senator Bello Tukur and other concerned supporters
