As the 2023 election gears up, a youth mobilizer in Okigwe Senatorial Zone, Comrade Obinna Ezeji, says since the creation of Imo State in 1976, the Okigwe Clan had never produced a Senator, while the Mbano and Etiti Clans had produced Senators in many occasions.
Hence he stated that equity among the three clans of Okigwe Senatorial Zone which are Okigwe Clan (Otanchara, Otanzu, Okigwe and Onuimo), the Mbano Clan (Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano) and the Etiti Clan (Ihitte Uboma and Obowo) must be maintained if equity is anything to go by in politics and governance. Ezeji hinted that it is the turn of Okigwe Clan to go to the Senate in 2023 just as Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano and Etiti Clans had had their own turn, stating that
Patrick Ndubueze, the APC Senatorial Candidate for Okigwe Zone is ripe for the Seat, as he is the solution to the zone’s challenges, who he described as a unifier whose conducts have been instrumental to the development of Okigwe Zone.
Ezeji, who stated this last week in Okigwe, while sensitising youths of Okigwe Zone, told the electorate to ask questions about the antecedents of those they intend to vote in during elections, stressing that the inability of the electorate to ascertain the pedigree of a candidate they wish to vote means voting in darkness, corruption, suffering and bad governance, appealing that they vote wisely.
He noted that “the APC Senatorial Candidate, Ndubueze, is a man of competence, who has the capacity to deliver. He is also humble, focused and God- fearing. He is a lover of peace and unity. He will not relent nor disappoint the people if given mandate”.
