Senior Special Assistant SSA to the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano on Anambra State Promotion and Protection Agency (ASPPA) Mr. Philip Chinwuba, has been paraded for defamation and sedition.
Chinwuba was paraded on Tuesday by the Anambra State Police command for originating and circulating on various social media platforms a false and malicious publication captioned”COVID-19 in Awka” .

He had claimed that Corona virus has hit government house Awka with more than 30 senior government officials including Governor Obiano in isolation and that late Igwe Kelly of Igbariam contracted the virus after visiting the governor to thank him for lifting his suspension and died three days to the last Ofala celebration”
According to the Police, Chinwuba was alleged to have written that the virus was brought into government house by Mrs Maureen Odili from the USA who is the wife of the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr. Primus Odili
The Police spokesman CSP Haruna Mohammed who represented the Police Commissioner, John Abang said Chinwuba wrote that Mr. Primus Odili was having sexual affairs with a light skin woman in Nigeria and because of that the wife bleached herself and came to show off her new look to her husband.
Mohammed said, Chinwuba who is kinsman of the Governor from Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State was arrested following an investigation the Command took that required his explanation on the role he allegedly played in the crime.

“Also circulated on the same premise were series of falsehood and inciting messages which was made for the purpose of causing annoyance, criminal intimidation, enmity, hatred, ill will, or needless anxiety contrary to Section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrime(Prohibition Prevention Etc)Act,2015”, the police indicated.
Mohammed stated the circulations of documents have been traced to suspect and he is expected to explain his direct involvement in authoring or otherwise.
Speaking to journalists, Chinwuba said that he was not the person that wrote and published the article on his blog and other social media.
According to him, his lap top was stolen and his site hacked, that he made necessary notification to the Police.

The aide indicated that he is still SSA to the governor on ASPPA and he could not have done that. On why he has not refuted the story, he didn’t give an answer rather preferred to keep silent.
He also apologized to the governor for the embarrassment the publication may have caused him and the people of Anambra.
