NGO empowers  120 widows in Imo

Over 120 indigent widows of Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, Ahiara Diocese of Mbaise have been empowered with the sum of N8 million to assist them engage in trading, farming and other productive ventures.

Wrappers and food stuff were also donated to the widows.

The gesture which was organised by Emma and Esther Resources Foundation, founded by Emmanuel Anyanwu, was held at the church’s hall, Saturday.

In his speech, Anyanwu enjoined them to use the money well to beat poverty, reiterating that the gesture was a sacrifice being made to meaningfully help the less- privileged out of poverty.

He noted this year is the sixth in the series and thanked God for the strength and the sustenance of the humanitarian programme.

Giving a lecture, Sister Nkiru CAS Osuji, encouraged the beneficiaries to often have positive mindset to enable them invest the money on meaningful businesses in order to defeat poverty.

The beneficiaries appreciated the donor for the gesture, as they promised to use the money judiciously to improve their lives, as well as empower others.

They prayed to God to continue to strengthen and replenish Emma and Esther to do more for the less privileged to reduce their suffering.
