Former front line runner of People’s Democratic Party in Anambra and the present candidate for Accord party, Dr. Godwin Maduka has stated that his intentions for contesting the Anambra gubernatorial election is to make Anambra state the number one medical tourist state in Nigeria.
Maduka disclosed this while briefing journalist on Thursday in Awka during the official flag off of his campaign under the Accord Party platform.
Maduka full of confidence noted that he decided to join Accord because of his vision to develop the state into the last destination for medical services with fully equipped modern medical facilities.
“Reacting to questions, Maduka said, “I will be not be gender biased, there will be women and women but I would say upon becoming the Governor of Anambra state open door for whoever wants to help the development of the state”.
Addressing newsmen, the Accord party Chairman in the state, Chief Bartholomew Igwedibia assured that the party is battle ready to deliver Maduka in the coming gubernatorial election.
“As a political party accord has an outstanding quality of supporters and members with tentacles in all nooks and crannies of Anambra state. For such, Accord will be very easy to be identified by the electorate”.
“We are battle ready to capture the government house and we swear solemnly we shall stand to ensure this opportunity does not slip off our hands”.
News Echo reports that Maduka after the primaries in the June 26 PDP governorship primaries, held in Awka, scored a total of five votes.
Recall that Mr. Alex Nwankwo, a media practitioner, and publicist, initially emerged governorship candidate of Accord, but had now been substituted with Dr. Godwin Maduka.
