As the forthcoming general election draws near, a concerned Igbo citizen and chairman, APC Houston USA, Hon. Elder Chime Opara, has said that the Muslim/Muslim APC Presidential Ticket being flown by Armed Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, will be decided by the Nigerian electorate.
Opara stated this in an interview with newsmen during the APC South East Stakeholders Meeting, held last week, at Rockview Hotel, Owerri.
According to him, “the Muslim/Muslim APC Presidential Ticket should not be an issue. It is left for Nigerians to make decisions on who to vote for. I preach free, fair and credible elections that will reflect the will of the people as democracy demands”.
Seeing the stakeholders meeting as being fantastic, Opara described Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as a good party man who is working hard to unify and solidify APC in the South East. “The gathering was fantastic. The Governor was able to give us a stand and preached to us unity and way forward for the party at the region. We are there and we are making progress”.
He added that APC leadership is working hard to make Nigerians home and diaspora to understand the situation to make out the current hullabaloo in the country economically, socially, politically wise. “Apc is waxing strong in diaspora especially in Houston USA because members believe in the unity and progress of Nigeria. APC is upholding them through fair democracy and purposeful leadership”.
