The member representing Onitsha South 1 Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Eli has installed two water boreholes in Fegge Community, empowered four youths with one shuttle bus each and distributed bags of rice to his constituents.
The lawmaker who addressed journalists shortly after the donation, said his aim for drilling the water borehole was to provide potable water for the community, as according to him, he intends to inspire hope in the people by initiating projects that will impact positively on them.
He said he was also in the process of powering the transformers he donated to his constituents to enable them enjoy adequate power supply.
Speaking while commissioning the borehole project, the Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Onitsha South, Chief Mafus Ezeoba, said the project was in fulfillment of his election promises.
He charged the community to take ownership of the project by ensuring its maintenance.
In a remark, the Personal Assistant to the legislator, Mr. Miracle Izunegbu, hinted that the community will witness massive empowerment of youths, women and the less privileged by next year, as well as scholarship scheme in reality with the demands of the day and solicited support from the people.
Some recipients of the shuttle buses, including Evaristus Osegbo and Ikemefuna Ezedinachi, prayed God to bless the lawmaker.
