The spate of robbery activities recorded in Aba, the commercial centre of Abia State in recent weeks which has led to the death of two operators of Point of Sale (PoS) have been blamed on some criminals operating with tricycles.
Abia State government in a press release last Tuesday, made the disclosure, explaining that the discovery was a product of its careful investigation.
The release which was signed by Barr. Chris Ezem, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) expressed the government’s displeasure on the development, warning the leadership of Keke unions in the State to fish out the criminals in their midst.
The State government also charged the citizens on the need for vigilance as well as urged the residents to report any suspected movement of criminals to security agency for prompt action.
The State government further reiterated her commitment towards the protection of all residents.
It would be recalled that there have been upsurge in armed robbery attacks on some business centres especially owners of Point of Sale (PoS) joints with Aba taking the lead.
