Jubiliation has enveloped Ndiukwuenu in Orumba North following the commissioning of the Primary Health Centre built by the community with funds from the Governor Willie Obiano’s ‘Community Choose Your Project Initiative’.
Speaking at the event, Governor Willie Obiano represented by the Executive Secretary Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi commended the people for their support. He stated that the desire of the state government is to achieve ultra modern healthcare centre to cater for grassroot healthcare services of the area.
Dr Onyemaechi also applauded Chief Onwurah for assisting the government in tackling healthcare challenge in the community, and called on other wealthy individuals in the state to key into the adoption Model of ASHIA to register more indigent persons in the state under the scheme to enable them benefit from the initiative.
Responding, Chief Onwurah, thanked Governor Obiano for all his administration’s interventions in Ndiukwuenu community with emphasis on the palliative work on the road that linked the community with Awka, saying that he was moved to enroll the over one hundred persons into the state government’s Health scheme to ease their plight in seeking for healthcare.
Mrs Chinwe Okonkwo, an indigene and a nursing mother expressed gratitude to government for putting such medical structure in the community.
Also speaking, the President General of the community, Mr. Okechukwu Okoli, a stakeholder in the community, Mr. Chukwuemeka Orjiako, and an old woman in the area, Mrs. Comfort Madi, thanked the benefactor for remembering his people in such capacity, and urged well to do individuals to assist in the development of their various communities for the interest of less privileged.
