The Managing Director, Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Charles Orie, has promised better days ahead for oil producing communities in the state.
Orie made the promise while having an audience with members of Niger Delta Media Forum (NDMF) in his office, Thursday.

He maintained that funds accrued to the commission will be judiciously used on projects and welfare of the people.
“I’m here to reform ISOPADEC in order to change the ugly narratives because we are not here to share money meant for the commission to groups or individuals. We are bent on providing social amenities for our people. Youth and women empowerment are our priority, just as employment will be created to reduce poverty and insecurity”, he stated.

Orie alleged that past administrations mismanaged the commission’s fund but eulogised the state governor, Hope Uzodimma for what he described as the governor’s commitment to the welfare of oil producing communities.

Earlier, Chairman, Niger Delta Media Forum, Mr. Chukwuemeka Ike, had charged the commission to do all it could towards developing the oil producing communities.
The congress condemned all attacks on journalists and called for the release of all journalists in jail.
