The General Manager of Imo Transport Company (ITC), Dr. Emeka Duru, says ITC is ready to relocate to its new place following a directive by state government. He stated this when he spoke with journalists at his new office on Wednesday.
Duru hinted that the environmental state of the new place is not conducive for normal operation, hence the delay for the company’s relocation. He appealed to the state government to give the company ample time as well as assist it financially in order to clear the place to enable full operation. “ITC is ready to relocate to the new place, but as you can see for yourselves, this place is not ready for operation now.
We need to do more work here before activities can take place. We need to clear the bushes and furnish offices. To do all these things, money will be involved, that is why we are seeking assistance from the state government”, Duru recapped.
Duru also appealed to the Ministry of Transport to abrogate all illegal Motor Parks operating in the state to enable the new Park to get proper attention from passengers.
