Lawmaker representing Isu State Constituency in Imo States House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Obiefule, has empowered 44 persons with a hundred thousand naira each to help them start up trade, boost their businesses to eke out a proper living. She also gifted them with bags of rice and others for the yuletide celebration.
The empowerment which took place at Isuokporo, Isu local government area, Imo State, recently, left the beneficiaries jubilating and appreciating God for using the lawmaker to affect their lives meaningfully, praying for more divine strength and direction as she works for the good of her people.
Giving the largesse, Obiefule said the gesture was aimed at helping the beneficiaries start up trade, boost their businesses in order to reduce hardship at the constituency, explaining that the largesse was in fulfilment of her election promise to the people, urging them to use the money judiciously so that they beat poverty, as well as empower others.
The pragmatic lawmaker who had previously empowered and sponsored 10 graduates from her constituency overseas (United States of America and Cyprus) through her scholarship scheme for advanced studies, promised to make the empowerment a continuous program with a view to ensuring that every constituent shares in her dividends of democracy for continued peace, comfort and security.
