In Enugu State, there was no full compliance by people to the sit-at-home order by the Leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to protest President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo State on Thursday.
Although markets, government offices, banks, petrol filling stations were closed, few shops, supermarkets as well as restaurants were opened after the mid-day for business in Enugu metropolis.
There was also significant vehicular movements on the major roads and streets of the state capital.
News Echo correspondent observed that last Monday burning of an articulated truck laden with goods in the Nsukka axis of the state may not have had any effect on vehicular traffic within the metropolis and environs though inter state movements were not operative as major motor parks including Old Park were all shut.
As at the time of filling the report, security was beefed up in the state capital and other major towns in the state, even as there was no reports of clashes or enforcement of the order in the state.
