Imo people have told Governor Hope Uzodimma to leave no stone unturned to probing and recovering alleged stolen public assets and money from Senator Rochas Okorocha.
This call was made by Imo people who participated in a One- Day Imo Political Group Summit, held at Villa Garden Hotel, Owerri, on Wednesday.
Theme of the summit was “Recovering looted Imo assets from Okorocha, his relatives and cronies,” with some concerned Imo citizens participating in the summit.
The participants, Prof Conan Anosike, Mazi Nnadi Dickson Iroegbu, Chief Chris Ibe among others said that they were “ashamed that Rochas was so greedy to steal Imo money, land and other properties and the ones he did not need and left the people to suffer and languish in abject penury.
Earlier, declaring the summit open, Chief Dan Anyanwu, stated that it was right for Imo State government to take urgent and necessary steps to recover looted assets and money belonging to the people from Rochas, families and cronies who he accused of looting Imo treasury dry with impunity, asking “what was the occupation of Okorocha’s wife, daughters, sons, sisters and Uche Nwosu to have built hotels, estates worth over 10 billion naira on Otamiri land, established businesses and others”.
On behalf of the organizers of the program, Chief Mbama Ahude, mentioned that the summit was organized to encourage the state government to intensify action as to probe Okorocha and accomplices and recover Imo properties and money.
