Ousted governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has declared that the people of the state are in love with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ihedioha made the assertion during an extraordinary meeting of stakeholders of the party in his Mbutu country home, Aboh Mbaise, Wednesday.
The former governor stated that PDP is very much alive and active in the state, adding that people are very much happy with the party and very willing to continue supporting the party.

He said it was in the character of Imo PDP to meet during the Christmas and New Year period, emphasising that it was significant that the culture was being re-enacted by the current State Working Committee and advised that the practice of unity and peace be sustained across the state.
Ihedioha therefore implored the leaders and stakeholders to continue to do everything humanly possible to grow the party and reposition it for success and victory in future elections.

Speaking on behalf of the incumbent PDP legislators, Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, said the lawmakers have performed creditably, promising to continue to do more as time progresses.

He encouraged party leaders and stakeholders to continue to support the party in every way possible.
In his speech, the state chairman of the party, Engr. Charles Ugwuh, submitted that the party has been alive and responsive to its responsibilities.
Ugwuh reassured that all efforts were being made to mend post-congress cracks that have been observed by the state executive, as reconciliation committees have been set up at local government and ward levels.

He hinted that the current state executive will continue to reposition the party to reflect the dreams and visions of the founding fathers, which ensured unity and justice with focus on the central purpose of winning elections.
Reports from executives of the three zones of Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe, were unanimous on the sustainable unity, peace and progress of the party across the state.
Other leaders of the party who made speeches of commendation and morale-boosting included, Chief Eze Duruiheoma, Hon. Jones Onyereri, Barr. Chris Okewulonu, among others.
