Imo roads will be recovered – Works commissioner

Ralph Nwosu, Imo Commissioner for Works has assured Imolites of the state government’s determination to recover Imo roads from the state of decay.

Nwosu made this known when he received in his office, leaders of Umuduru-Egbeaguru clan in Onuimo Local Government Area who paid him courtesy call.

The commissioner revealed that the state government with its 3R agenda is unwavering in its promise and commitment to give Imo roads a face lift without compromising high standard. He noted that a lot have been put in place already by the present administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma to ensure that this is achieved.
He assured Imo citizens and residents that the present administration is true to it’s words, sensitive to the plight of the road users in the state and will deliver the dividends of democracy to Imo people and promised Umuduru-Egbeaguru leaders that their road will receive attention from the “shared prosperity” government.

The works commissioner also disclosed that the Rural Access Mobility Project (RAMP) contractors will soon resume work on their roads, as Imo government in addition has promised to asphalt all RAMP roads in the state.
Earlier in his address, Apex Leader of Umuduru-Egbeaguru clan, Chief Robert Asuzu, a retired permanent secretary in the state and one time Senior Special Assistant to a past governor, eulogized the noble qualities the conmissiners and ranked him the best among equals, as well as the best Commissioner under the Clean and Green administration Ikedi Ohakim.

Chief Asuzu disclosed that the essence of their visit was to officially bring to the notice of commissioner, the deplorable condition of; Umuna-Okwe- Umuduru-Egbeaguru-Ndiawa Arondizuogu road for prompt intervention.
He disclosed that over the years, the clan has cried out for intervention from government, to no avail, whereas the road links the clan to other communities. He further said that the condition of the road adversely affects socio economic life of the people, as he pleaded for government to come to their aid.
