The newly elected speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, has appealed to journalists in the state to be fair in reporting activities of the state government.

The speaker, who spoke in Owerri, while receiving members of the House of Assembly Press Corps in his office, noted that the state government was currently going through a teething period, but expressed optimism that things will improve afterwards.

He urged journalists in the state to make balanced and fair reportage their contribution to the growth and stability of the state.

Emeziem expressed optimism that there will be new policies with the recent change in the leadership of the house and urged the press to partner with him.

He used the opportunity to pour encomiums on the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for his efforts towards the economic and infrastructural growth of the state

Emeziem was sworn in as the new speaker of the house on Friday, November 13 after the impeachment of former Speaker, Chiji Collins.
