Newly promoted police aids of the Deputy Governor of Imo State have been charged to work harder in their service to the nation and humanity in general.

The deputy governor, Prof Placid Njoku handed this charge in his office, while decorating some of his police aids who benefited from the recent promotion exercise of the Nigerian Police.

Njoku expressed joy that some police officers in his office were found worthy to be promoted to new ranks, describing the development as recognition of their hard work in the police force.

He noted that many of them have been in their former ranks for quite a long time and urged them to see their new ranks as a call for higher responsibility in their service to the nation, urging them to always carry officers in lower ranks along.

The state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, who was present at the occasion, advised the newly promoted officers to see their new positions as an opportunity to do better in their work, urging those who were not promoted not to be discouraged, as it will soon be their turn.

The newly promoted officers are John Mba, Michael Ojonugwa and Jummai Musa who were promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Inspector, while Chijioke Mbakwe was promoted from Corporal to Sergeant.
