Imo state Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku has showered praises on Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, describing him as the most recognized name among politicians from the South-east Nigeria.

Prof Njoku made this remark while presenting a keynote address during the 60th anniversary/ Founders Day of the University of Nigeria Nsukka and the 78th birthday anniversary of Chief Emmanuel C. Iwuanyanwu organized by the University of Nigeria Alumni Association, Owerri branch and held at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre on Sunday, 11 October.

Prof. Njoku hinted that Chief Iwuanyanwu as an accomplished civil engineer, an airline entrepreneur, a soccer promoter, a successful industrialist, a renowned philanthropist and an astute politician is one of the few Nigerians who have blazed the trail in the search to make the private sector the engine of the national development.

The number two citizen, who prayed for many more years for the celebrant to remain a blessing to the country, however noted that the number 60 significantly depicts harmony, stability and equanimity.

Speaking about the UNN, Prof. Njoku stressed that the University was founded on the 6th day of October, 1960 by late Owelle, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and has ever since produced many men and women who are accomplished academicians, professionals, business moguls and technocrats like Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

In his speech, the celebrant, Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu appreciated his alumni for celebrating him in his lifetime, adding that he sees the honour as the highpoint in his life career. Engr. Iwuanyanwu charged all to work hard for the unity of the country, wondering what the aim of Boko Haram is, as they have not yet made known their clear demand.
