As the Anambra State governorship election comes up on Saturday, the Imo State All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has declared 3 days prayer and fasting session for Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the party’s candidate in the election.
The party said the prayer and fasting session was geared to invoke God to continue to strengthen it and its candidate in order to win the governorship election, mentioning that God who knows, sees everything will blind and confuse election riggers so that Chukwuma Soludo will cruise to victory as citizens of Anambra State yearn for.
The Chairman of APGA, Imo State chapter, Hon. John Iwuala, while addressing leaders of the party at its Secretariat Owerri on Wednesday, disclosed that the party is set for the election, which he warned should not be doctored by the federal government.
APGA stressed that it has the confidence that the military, the police and other security personnel deployed to Anambra State to maintain peace, fairness, security in the election will not be used by the authority to rig the election to the favor of APC.
“We are poised to win the election in Anambra State. Be rest assured that APGA will win that election to consolidate good governance and strengthen good living and security. Imo APGA has been working effortlessly to support Anambra APGA to win the election. Go home and deliver Soludo, for security will be intact.
Yes, the election cannot be rigged and anybody who tries to rig the election may not get home alive”.
On Imo State Local Government Area election tentatively slated for March 2022, the party noted that it will participate effectively in the election, which it believes will be conducted in all the 305 INEC Wards of the state.
Iwuala, who urged the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC), the Imo State government and the APC to ensure that admissible ground is created to enable all interested political parties to participate in the local government area election if democracy and rule of law are anything to go by in the state, called on Imo people especially the elite to rise and caution APC against manipulating the entire council poll.
